Fabuloso Friday in the pouring rain!

Yes, it is a fabulous day in Washington, DC. Rain pouring down, thunder booming, 2 hours to go until it's the weekend. No. Seriously. I go on vacation in a few days, of course it is a great Friday.

Sexy and all that

I was just told that I look very sexy today. Of course, it was couched with "don't take this the wrong way or badly", because I am at work and it was a guy in the office across the hall from me saying it.

I don't know why he thinks that. I am just wearing black jeans and keds and my white Law Enforcement Special Agent polo shirt. I loved it. Compliments are good and that one made my day, probably made my weekend. Thanks dude!

Now, back to the "don't take this the wrong way" part. What happened to the good old days when you didn't have to worry about sexual harrassment and shit like that? Why do people get so worked up when people say something that could be a compliment? Why does it have to turn into something worse?

I think it's stupid that everyone has to take classes now, and you can't say certain shit to certain genders, and watch your p's and q's, etc. You can't even attempt to have good old fun without worrying someone might take something the wrong way.

I think people like that are idiots.

Lance isn't doing so well in the "Tour" right now. Yes, he moved back up to 3rd but it is over.

I expect him to re-concede this tour to the douchebag Contador (the cheater). Oh well, I guess you can't win all of the them and there is always next year. Way to go Lance!

I know, don't brag. Seriously my officemate, S, and I have nothing to do. Do you know what nothing means? It means, literally nothing.

I'm so bored that I can't even get up the energy to blog. How pathetic is that?

That's why I am soooooo glad it is my Friday. And I only have 1 hour of work left. And, in case, you didn't get it by now, then I am out the door for the weekend.

The weekend. I have nothing to do also. Hubby and me are not getting along. Of course, we aren't, the kids are gone for the week. What? Get along, maybe have sex, maybe hang out differently? Yeah, right. Try being married to my husband.

We were supposed to go camping for a long weekend (since I'm off tomorrow), but of course that isn't happening. Remember, I just said we weren't talking. What a jackass!

Sorry for the drab, whoa is me, writing. I'll try to do better in the future.

This is the Friday mid-day edition of my random thoughts. Now, that does not mean there will be a late edition, but anything is possible.

Have you heard/read about the latest US thing catching on? It's been around a long time in Japan. Thumb Novels. Mini, short novels you write and post from your cell phone. I think it is kinda cool.

And what a nice, sunny, gorgeous Friday it is. It's looking like we will not get a government perk of being released early today. I'm assuming Memorial Day just doesn't rank up there with the likes of Xmas and Thanksgiving. Though I guess there is still time for the edict to come down. (Come on, what are you waiting for, get sent to us lowly staff.)

Penguins rock! In case you don't know that already. Yes, the furry little black and white creatures dressed in tuxedos, but, of course, I meant my Pittsburgh Penguins.

Wooooh, it's Friday! I know, I am at work on my off-Friday. That's okay, training has been okay all week, I don't mind. And it just means that I am off on Monday.

So the Penguins play the Hurricanes, exactly what I wanted except that I have to wait until Monday for the 1st game. That sucks, that's too long of a wait. I want to play tomorrow!

Polar Bear Friday

Really cute polar bear costumes. We have protesters from GreenPeace camped outside of our building today.

2 of the protesters are dressed up as polar bears in an effort to have the special rule issued in December, by the Bush administration, retained. The ruling protects the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act. It is related to the effects of greenhouse gases and climate change. The administration has until tomorrow to make a decision on the ruling.

Yes, I just checked and saw the news release that says the ruling will continue.

But they really are cute costumes. They have got to be sweating, it is close to 80 degrees under full sun in the middle of DC.

Today is my short Friday. Okay it is only shortened by an hour, but hey, that's significant when you work 9 hour days.

It's late on Friday night, okay, it's not that late. We haven't even left the house yet to go get drunk. That's coming in about half an hour.

What a waste today was. It was my Friday off and what do I do? I don't even get out of bed until noon. So much for gambling at Charles Town. Next time I suppose.

Yippee, I made it through a whole week of 9 hour days, okay, still got 6 hours to go in today's work day, but that's okay. The weather is awesome outside, it is going to be a great weekend.

My neighbors are having a block party tonight. Technically it is a block party for Neighborhood Watch of which my neighbor heads up one of the "locations". We are considered in the Purple Zone. So anyhow, the Neighborhood Watch organization, via my neighbor is having a block party. What this means is that all of the adults will be drunk and watching our kids vandalize and tear things up. Cool, they don't have to sneak behind our backs tonight.

How are you doing today?

So today was my compressed day and the weather was awesome. I went up to Charlestown and did some gambling and it was actually a good gambling day. After buying 2 rum and cokes and a slice of pizza, I came home with 7 dollars more than I took. That's a great gambling day.

My Penguins are trying to make it 2 games to none over the Flyers right now, but they are down 1 - 0. Come on Pens!

All I had to do was put that in writing and it made my Pens score. YEAH! Tied game. Go Pens!

Hubby and I just came back from a party. A friend turned 40 today. We drove about half a mile and walked around the lake to their townhouse. It was nice. Hubby is still there. He will just walk to the bar after that and then come home early. I came home to watch my Pens and I will go out later. Hubby wants to be home early because he is going Turkey hunting tomorrow.

Yes, we are getting along at the moment. We are working on it. We have to, I really do love him.

TGIF (for a Thursday)

Well, I tried to send a post via email from my BlackBerry at 6:00am this morning, and as you can obviously not see, it didn't show up. In that post I was ranting and raving about technology, well, I take it back. Screw it.

So today is my Friday. Remember, I now have the wonderful compressed schedule to work from. WooHoo! And the weather is going to be great today (for a Friday) and then my 2 Saturdays are also supposed to be sunny, warm, and wonderful. (I hate when I use a big word twice in the same paragraph.)

So when is your Friday?

Oh yeah, holy crap how could I forget? GO PENS! My Penguins won the first playoff game against that team from another state (Philadelphia). We rock and we looked awesome, the Fliers looks like crap, which they are.

Happy Friday all! It's close to closing time (okay, going home time) and the weather is pretty decent outside.

How about them Pitt Panthers? Awesome, not a technically sound game, but they find a way. They are the "Beast of the East". Keep it up guys.

Oh yeah, I did get an iPod Touch. I bought one for my #2 son for his birthday and I liked it soooo much, I had to have one also. Me and my electronic toys, that's what it's all about. But I don't get WiFi reception in my building, imagine that. So I couldn't play with it much today. I'll work on that tonight. Or maybe on the bus on the way home, I can grab some WiFi, download some apps, play some games, and just figure it out.

Yes, it's Friday! I know I haven't been around here much this week. It's kind of hard to blog when you are sitting in a classroom 9 hours a day and then have kid's basketball games at night. So I have been in ITIL v3.0 Foundations Boot Camp for 3 days. AND I passed my test and am certified! Yeah me. I'm happy for me. It's cool to have certifications and this is one of the certifications that supposedly is high on list of desired tech certs.

So B won his basketball playoff game last night. That means he plays in the semi-finals tonight. When they win tonight, they will be in the championship game tomorrow. Go Cavaliers! And on some other basketball related stuff, Go Pitt! We beat Marquette on Wednesday, play UConn tomorrow and that is the end of the regular season (boo hoo). Then its on to the Big East Tournament, Go Pitt!

Yeah, its Friday! Not much else going on, work is slow, no one is around the office, its starting to drizzle outside, but it is warm (well, warmer = 60ish).

So my boys go to their dad's tonight for the weekend. B has his final basketball game of the regular season. They are 8-1, clinched first place, and have to play the 8th or 9th seed in the tournament. Awesome! J has 2 games left, they are 7-1, also already clinched first place in the regular season. Good teams this year.

So what do you think about thunderstorms? Random question. I love them. I love being in the house looking out the window, just watching the storm. My youngest son isn't thrilled with them and I'm not sure why. He has always been really afraid. We haven't had many in the last year or so, so I don't know how much he is over that. Why did I bring this up? Because we are supposed to get a downpour or two tonight and I was hoping for thunderstorms. That's why.

So its Friday (again) and it is soooo cold here. The wind is whipping making it seem like 15 degrees colder than it actually is. I hate the wind in the winter, now if it would snow, I could deal with that. I don't know why, but when its cold and it snows, it seems warmer to me. I know, I'm weird.

Our new addition is doing well, she is bouncing around everywhere. She gets up and down the steps with ease. I just worry that she will forget where the litter box is. Or that someone will step on her. What a darling.

So J's basketball team is 7-0 and B's basketball team is 7-1. They are both leading their divisions by 2 or 3 games. They only play a total of 10 games and I really do miss it when the season is over. Its awesome watching them play and improve.
