Coca Cola Pot Roast

Coca Cola Roast (Thanks Busy Mom)
Ready for cheap, easy and delicious?!  This is it!!!!!  I've had a roast in my freezer for a while now, and I've always wanted to try something I've heard others doing.  While in a GIGANTIC hurry to get out of the house the other day, but still have dinner for my busy evening when I came home, I THREW this together!  I don't think I've ever peeled carrots of chopped potatoes so fast!  LOL

Who knew 1 little can of Coca Cola could make such a delicious roast?!  Now, I know!  I'm gonna get right to it tonight!  You may have all the ingredients already, so go throw it in your crock for the morning!

Coca Cola Roast

Ingredients:

3-4 lb. boneless bottom round steak (or whatever kind of roast you want)
5-6 small potatoes, cut if you'd like
4-5 medium sized carrots (or more) peeled, cut in half or thirds
2 tsp. chopped garlic (about 2-3 cloves)
salt and pepper to taste
1 can Coca Cola

Directions: (I used a 6 Quart Slow-Cooker for this)

Place your roast in the crock (mine was frozen) with your carrots and potatoes.

Sprinkle it with salt, pepper and garlic.

Pour the can of coke over the top.

Cook on LOW for 8-10 hours or on HIGH for 4-5 hours.

Crock Pot Cheesy Bacon Chicken

This looks and sounds soooooo good.  Thanks "Better Than Burgers".

Crock Pot Cheesy Bacon Chicken
6 boneless, skinless chicken breast
2 cans cheddar soup (I used Campbell's)
3/4 c. milk
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled

If the chicken breasts are large, cut in half. Spray inside of crock pot with a small amount of cooking spray. Place chicken in the bottom of the pan. In a separate dish, combine soup, milk and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk until mixed well. Pour over chicken. Cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 3 hours. Serve on mashed potatoes, topped with grated cheese and bacon crumbles.

Can't wait to try this!

Blew it

the last 2 days.  Oh well, you can't win all of the time.  And really, this week work is interfering.  I am so busy I can't think straight some times.

Oh yeah, and hubby is gone for 12 days hunting.  He left yesterday.  VACATION!  (for me)

In lieu of....

Gotta love Alternative Work Schedules.  I work a 4-5-9 work schedule and last Friday, Veteran's Day, was my scheduled Friday off.  Ooops, can't take an off day on a holiday, so I get to pick any other day during that 2 week pay period to make up my day off.  Of course, I'm going to pick a Monday after a 3 day weekend.

Do you think I'm nuts!

Where is the sun?

I need some sun.  I'm not sure I'm ready for winter, not yet.  I am ready for some football, though.

GO PITT!  (12:00 noon in case you are interested)

Sorry state of football

Well, it is for Penn State.  I'm extremely tired of hearing about Mr. Paterno's firing.  I have mixed emotions on whether or not he should have been allowed to finish the season.  I understand from a victim's point of view, it was probably wayyyyyyy overdue and didn't come soon enough.  But the facts are what they are and I also have to think about the kids on that football team that now are left behind.

I don't know.  I do know, I sure wouldn't want to be in that situation.  Happy Valley isn't so happy.

Warning!

Warning!  Warning!  This is only a test.  I wonder how many people did not get that message and will go off the deep end in a few minutes.

What am I talking about?  You didn't get that memo?

It's time for the FEMA Emergency Alert System Test.  It's nationwide.  Cool.  Way to work on keeping us safe :-)

Technology

I am all about technology.  I love playing around with gadgets, computers, smart phones, games, etc.  I use a BlackBerry and an iPhone as my work phone and I use the Droid Bionic as my personal phone.  The only reason I have 2 work phones is because we are evaluating the use of the iPhone for our organization (my BlackBerry number is forwarded to my iPhone).

I love the latest and greatest of technology.  Okay, so my Bionic is already outdated.  That's ok.

I do prefer Android.

Hangover

I have a football hangover.  Like I said yesterday, I hate my team playing on Sunday night.

STEELERS!

It's a football Sunday!  Go Steelers!

I really can't stand the prime time Sunday night games.  I hate waiting.  (also can't stand the Monday night games)  I want my game on Sunday at 1:00pm.  No waiting, that's just more time for people to run their mouths.  I don't care about being on in prime time.  That means nothing to me.

Give me my game now!

Go Steelers!

Ready for the weekend?

What a great day to sleep in.  My husband was up and gone by 5:00am (hunting).  The kids slept in.  What a peaceful morning.

Now what to do with my free Saturday?

TGIF

Welcome to Friday!  Even though it is my work Friday, it's an ok day (so far).

Received my new laptop and TouchPad yesterday afternoon.  Can you believe it?  They are still boxed up.  I need to figure out a plan.  Are they for Christmas, are they both mine, what about the other laptop and TouchPad?  Hmmmm, what to do, what to do.

Just do it

That's the motto I try to follow.  Of course, it doesn't always work out that way, but I like to think it keeps me from procrastinating.

Reality is, the closer to my heart something is, the harder it is to make a difficult decision.  And let's just leave that statement as is and move on.

Just do it.
