TGIF

Yeah, its Friday! Not much else going on, work is slow, no one is around the office, its starting to drizzle outside, but it is warm (well, warmer = 60ish).

So my boys go to their dad's tonight for the weekend. B has his final basketball game of the regular season. They are 8-1, clinched first place, and have to play the 8th or 9th seed in the tournament. Awesome! J has 2 games left, they are 7-1, also already clinched first place in the regular season. Good teams this year.

So what do you think about thunderstorms? Random question. I love them. I love being in the house looking out the window, just watching the storm. My youngest son isn't thrilled with them and I'm not sure why. He has always been really afraid. We haven't had many in the last year or so, so I don't know how much he is over that. Why did I bring this up? Because we are supposed to get a downpour or two tonight and I was hoping for thunderstorms. That's why.

If I don't write at you, have a nice weekend!

Isn't this cute? See, on the left, that's our baby sleeping with our dog. She's just leaning against her butt, I'm guessing she was pretty comfortable.

thursday

So the weather is pretty decent today, warmer, but I am sick. Doesn't that just bite. Just a cold, but a full-blown, blah, sniffling, dripping, sneezing cold. Yuck. But of course I went to work, can't waste my leave yet (tee hee).

Giveaway from Country Girl

There are some absolutely gorgeous pictures being given away (free giveaway because she wants to do it) from Chronicles of a Country Girl. You should visit.

Thoughtlessness

Is that even a word? Thoughtlessness, the act of not thinking? I don't know, but I don't have any thoughts either (at the moment). So Pitt became #1 again on Monday and then Tuesday they go and lose to Providence. Providence, WTF?

So I"m writing a Statement of Work / RFP for outsourcing the hosting of our system. Wanna help? (just kidding - non-disclosure rules, privacy act, sensitive information, etc.) Oh, and it's coming along just fine, in case you are interested.

So if you jump onto a metro train as the doors are in the middle of closing, will they bounce back open or just try to smoosh you? I was tempted this morning, but a: I'm not that stupid, b: they are old trains and I'm not sure I trust them, and c: life is too short to be in that big of a hurry.

Have a good Wednesday morning!

What to do, what to do, what to do. I'll be taking my ITIL v3 Foundations certification next week. That's a pretty good certification to have now a days. Though it is pretty dry stuff.

My youngest son's basketball team are 2 games ahead of everyone else with 1 game to play, so they won the season championship. Coach cut practice short last night and took them all to Potbelly's for milkshakes. Its so cool to see all the kids letting their hair down. A couple of them got up and pretended to do Karaoke, no music was on, but the microphone and little stage were set up. Normally, these shy kids wouldn't have anything to do with getting up in front of people. There were only about 2 other people in the restaurant at the time, though.

So my Pitt Panthers are #1 again! Did I mention that yesterday? That's just too cool. Having never, ever been #1 and they do it twice this season. Let's see if they can hang on through the rest of the season.

Have a great Tuesday!

BlackBerry

I absolutely love this picture, another BlackBerry pic:

Created by Debbie Ridpath Ohi (her Inkygirl site can be found here).

Blah Monday Morning

It's Monday, it's freezing, it's windy, and it's BLAH! I'm wide awake, at work, but sort of bored, but mainly blah. We started finishing our basement yesterday so I am also a little bit up (yes, my hubby calls me a wimp, but I don't do that kind of stuff for a living like he does). The lifting of drywall, hammering over my head, that's stuff I am definitely not toned for. But that's okay, it was probably good exercise and stretching of my muscles.

And Pitt won on Saturday, and #2 and #3 lost. We will be #1 again after the polls are released today! You rock Pitt Panthers Basketball!

TGIF

So its Friday (again) and it is soooo cold here. The wind is whipping making it seem like 15 degrees colder than it actually is. I hate the wind in the winter, now if it would snow, I could deal with that. I don't know why, but when its cold and it snows, it seems warmer to me. I know, I'm weird.

Our new addition is doing well, she is bouncing around everywhere. She gets up and down the steps with ease. I just worry that she will forget where the litter box is. Or that someone will step on her. What a darling.

So J's basketball team is 7-0 and B's basketball team is 7-1. They are both leading their divisions by 2 or 3 games. They only play a total of 10 games and I really do miss it when the season is over. Its awesome watching them play and improve.

Nothing about anything

How's that for a title? I have so much to say and no way to say it. Have I told you lately that I still love my job? I really, really do.

And our little kitten is sooooo cute, just adorable.

That's all for now.

Friday the 13th

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Happy Friday the 13th. I would rather celebrate Friday the 13th than tomorrow's evil holiday. When you are not seeing eye-to-eye (to put it nicely) with your husband, the stress level is way high, and I am just miserable. And getting really, really tired of this shit.

Oh well, such is life, I suppose.

From CrackBerry

I found this on a CrackBerry forum, its hilarious. It was from an article titled "24 ways to get a better nights sleep".

The first thing the article said to do was turn off all electrical toys (or something like that).

Yes, I know, I haven't been very good about my blog lately. Got a lot of stress going on at home, not in the best of moods, and on and on and on.

Work is going good. I really do like my job and I've already been here for over 3 months. HA take that!

Monday, February 9, 2009

So I have a friend, we used to hang out all the time, then I started dating my now husband and she had to move away. No too far, but a good hour which makes for difficult visits (especially since she hates and sometimes fears, to drive.

Well the worst possible thing happened to them. She and her ex have 5 children and 3 weeks ago 2 of the boys (22 and 20) were walking to their dad's 2nd home in Slippery Rock from being out with friends at a bar and they were hit from behind by a drunk driver. The 22 year old managed to call his dad from his cell phone. They were rushed to the hospital. The 22 year old was released with stitches on his face and a concussion and some big (and painful) bruises. The 20 year old is now at his 3rd hospital, John Hopkins, the best there is. He is, essentially not here, but there sure is a lot of hope. Little things keep seem to be improving. He had surgery a couple of days ago to reattach his skull to his spinal cord (that's how bad it is) and came through that great. He no longer has to wear a restraint on his head and shoulders to hold everything together. But, even though things seem to look up at times, this has to be the hardest thing any parent, sibling, relation, or friend could ever go through. Not to mention how he may feel or what he may think (if he really is). It is so sad. Everytime I read the website for updates or guestbook entries I just tear up. What a senseless tragedy. My heart and my prayers are constantly with him and his family.

Wow, I have not been very good at blogging lately, I guess I have realized that I don't really have anything to say. Not that it didn't stop me before, but maybe it is just boring me now. I need some more motivation.

Oh yeah, in case you haven't heard, my Steelers have won their 6th World Championship Super Bowl. Just thought I would throw that in there.

What else is new? Well, there is some bad medical news for my husband (who is a complete jerk at the moment) but I don't feel like putting it down on paper yet.

And that will about do it for me, I really have to get some motivation back. Need to start writing again. Have a nice day.

Steelers are #1!

Here we go Steelers, here we go! I have nothing else to say, but go STEELERS!
